The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body by Joanna Cole is one of the books within the popular Magic School Bus series. This book involves Ms. Frizzle and her class traveling through the human body and learning about its different parts and functions. This is an informational text that would be
Show More
great to use during a science lesson on the body. The book gives a fictional story along with actual scientific information. It would also be a great book to help teach students how to read the text features of informational texts. I love this series of books and think this is a fun book for children to read and learn from.

Ms. Frizzle brings her class to a museum to learn about the human body. She shrinks the students and bus and enters into one of the students body. They learn all of the body parts and how they work while they are inside of him. This book can help students with imagination, and is a fun way of
Show More
teaching them about the human body.

The Magic School Bus carrying Ms. Frizzle and the entire class shrinks and is accidentally eaten by Arnold, and journeys through his body.

I liked this book it had alot of information. It was very interesting. I liked it a lot.

The students could watch the movie version. And then discuss which body
Show More
system is their favorite and do a project on it.

The Magic School Bus series is a information fictional book. Every book is filled with information on the topic. Not only are the words descriptive but the pictures illustrate and show maps of the topic. For instance, in this book the students make comments about the organs and have educational
Show More
information in it.
The illustrations are not as artistica as they are accurate. The models in the classroom, the outrifts Ms. Frizzel wears all contribute to the topic they are studying. This focuses the reader on one topic and allows their eyes to wonder around the page.
Media- water color and colored pencils

This represents Fiction and Informational. It is Science Fictions because takes real world components and adds fictional aspects. As I read it I had to question the validity of going inside the human body, which aids in making this a Science Fiction piece. It is informational because throughout the
Show More
book we learn numerous things about the human body as they travel through a little boy's insides. The setting of this book fits well with the story because it shows the inside of a human body and the processes that happen in there, which is what is supposed to be portrayed. This book is most appropriate for the Primary and Intermediate levels. The media used in this book is watercolors.

This is a good example of science fiction because we see the real world overlapping with fictional pieces. The magic school bus’ trip into the human body reveals facts about it but it is impossible for a bus full of

children to shrink and travel inside the body. It is a great way to show students the workings of the human body and many projects can branch off of this book

This book is an excellent resource for teachers. Ms. Frizzle and the class go inside the human body.... and they are in for an adventure! The great thing about the Magic Schoolhouse Books is that they offer an INCREDIBLE amount of factual information in an interesting, exciting, and adventurous way.

The Magic School Bus books are always great to use in the classroom because they are fun and educational. I love the way that real life ideas and fiction are combined. They are full of information about the human body and a great way for students to learn in a way they will never forget. I love the

way the book takes the reader on a trip through the digestive system.

This book about a classroom takes an adventure on a school bus through the human body. The class entered the body through the mouth and followed the digestive system to the stomach. They also learned about the human blood.

I really like these books. I think they are great way to introduce a lesson.
I also really like the fact that when reading the book you are learning but it does not feel as though you are. My favorite thing about the books are that they have notes out to the side to provide more information about the subject.

I would read this book as an introduction to learning about the human body. I would also have the students refer to the pictures when we draw the human body

In this book Ms. Frizzle takes her students on a trip inside the human body. One of th most fascinating parts is that the body they enter is someone from their own classroom! Ms. Frizzle and the class learns all about the human body and how it works as well as the anatomy of the body. Good to have

for science lessons to connect to.

This is one of many books in the classic science series for kids. It's pages are not only filled with scientific information, pictures, and adventure stories, but also comic-book-like arrangements, maps, and interesting facts. This series allows students to delve into the world of science in a fun
Show More
and light-hearted way. (Watch the television series as a supplement!)

Ms. Frizzle is teaching the student about the human body. She shrinks the magic school bus and drives it through the body of a classmate. It has many pictures and great description of the heart, lungs, stomach, and many more.

I loved this book when I was a kid and still love it today! It uses a
Show More
great combination of fiction to get the children interested in learning by using the “Magic School Bus.” The book has and always will be a great tool for teaching the basics of human anatomy.

I would have the students do a cut and paste worksheet with different parts of the body for one assignment. Also, I would the students take a quiz over the information they learned after reading the book or watching the video that goes with it.

Yet another book about the interesting classroom life of the kids with magic school bus. This time one of the boy students swallows the bus and they take a field trip through parts of his body including the stomach, intestines, and bloodstream.

Genre: Science Fiction/ Informational
Review: This is a great example of science fiction because it takes place somewhere that you cant actually go. The technology that Mrs. Frizzle uses to go into Arnold's body does not actually exist today. As the class takes a field trip through the human body
Show More
they learn a vast amount about how the body works and the various parts. Since there is information that is actually teaching the students about the body it is also considered and informational text.
Point of View: This book is told in 3rd person omniscient. We know what Mrs. Frizzle, Arnold and all of the students are thinking all of the time. Unlike other texts were the thoughts are in the main text, this book gives each person a thought bubble as they are going through the human body. This helps to keep the reader interested but also learning about the information that is being presented.

Ms. Frizzle brings teaches the students about the human body by traveling through Arnold's body. They learn about the body parts and how each one works by visually seeing it. This book teaches students about the mouth, the stomach, the heart, intestines and so much more!

Another crazy and exciting adventure with Ms. Frizzle that lets the student explore the inside of the human body.

I liked this book, I always loved watching "The Magic School Bus" on the tv when I was in elementary school.

I would read this book while we are studying the human body. The students can
Show More
use this book to do research on different organs in the body, tell what our Red Blood Cell do, and much more.

A crazy teacher named Ms. Frizzle takes her class on a wild adventure to the inside of a classmate's body. Inside the students learn about the digestive system and blood cells.
This book is exellent for a classroom who is learning about the human body. A teacher could read this book before teaching
Show More
a unit on the digestive system and then go into further detail that the book covered.
This book is a fantasy because nothing in this book could physically happen, although the facts about the human body are realistic. This book could also been an informational book since they are explaining about the body.
The setting in this book is necessary for this story because it is all about the human body and the setting actually takes place inside the human body. The setting couldn't be any better.

Most young readers do not know how their body works on the inside. By reading this book they can get an easy and visual idea of how their digestive system works. The reading can be a bit more advanced for readers but allows some ease and some challenge. This is a fun imaginative book that can make
Show More
any reader put a smile on their face. Following Ms. Frizzle and her class as they go on crazy adventures readers can learn so much about science. This book can spark interest in science for those who might not really be a fan of science. This book makes learning fun and enjoyable.

Arnold is once again subjected to Mrs. Frizzle's special treatment as the magic school bus tours his body. The book focuses on how food is digested and turned into energy, though it touches on other body systems.

This mix of fantasy and fiction science book is one among a series that follows a class of students through many adventures. This book takes the reader inside the human body with an entertaining teacher and a bus full of magic.

Genre: Science Fiction
Genre Critique: This book is a good example of science fiction through the use of the author's focus on the conflict in the book rather than focus on individual characters and what they bring to the story. Scientific facts and information are intertwined with a regular story
Show More
line creating an interesting read for readers.
Review/Critique: I enjoyed reading this book, and found it a good source of information of facts about the body. It is a book that could be used in the classroom in many different ways to explore the human body and how it runs.
Media: Pen and Ink, Watercolor, Color Pencil, and Gouace for paintings.

I think this is a great book to teach slightly older kids about the human body and biology, in general. I think I agree with the other reviewer about the film quality being superior. I grew up on the books, but I think the films simply told the stories the way the author wanted the books to be told.

"The Magic School Bus: Inside The Human Body" is a great story that take full advantage of impossible technology. The class gets shrunk down and sent inside the body of one of the sick students in the class who had to stay at home for the day. They explore the entire body and help him get better in
Show More
a single day. This book is appropriate for students in grades K-3. I believe the theme is teamwork and friendship.

This book is about Ms. Frizzle and her class' journey into one of the student's body. They start off in the classroom and then she tells them that they are going on a field trip to a museum to learn more about the human body. When they are eating their picnic lunches, one of the students are behind
Show More
the others when getting back on the bus. His name is Arnold and they just leave without him. Ms. Frizzle hits a button on the bus and then they journey into his body without any of them knowing. Ms. Frizzle tells them all about what part of the body they are in while they circle right back to where they came in from. They went in through Arnold's nose and then when Arnold got back to the school he sneezed and they appeared. It ends with them back in the classroom making a huge poster of the human body. I really liked this book and have read others in the series. I think it would be so cool to journey into someone's body. That is probably why I enjoyed the book so much. It basically takes the reader on the journey with them by using word bubbles for the characters. This helps the reader know exactly what they are thinking or saying. The illustrator uses lots of colors to help with the story. A classroom extension would be to have the students trace themselves on a long piece of crate paper and put the insides of their bodies described in the book in the correct places. Another would be to have them write word bubbles for what they would say if they were a student of Ms. Frizzles on a field trip.
