An amusing chapter book with lovely illustrations that jump off the page as Mr. Putter tries to figure out how to bake a cake for his neighbor. The style of the writing is almost poetry which will allow for enjoyable reading aloud, but then as a child grows older they can read it on their own. One

of the best parts of this story is how Mr. Putter learns and makes mistakes with his cake but finally figures it out and is able to gift his friend. A child in the first grade would enjoy this, because it has chapters but also wonderful illustrations that seem to leap off the page.

receiving a strange gift in return.

Okay, okay....another EB, and a series yet! Ayup, sure, why not? I have a cat that looks just like Tabby, although not quite as friendly...

These are fun stories to read to children.
