Murphy writes interesting brief biographies of four remarkable spiritual women: Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science; Evelyn Underhill, writer on mysticism; Simone Weil, philosopher; and Flannery O'Connor, fiction writer. These are followed by some musings and nice quotes, but no coherent points. Somehow, this should be more interesting than it is.
