Description

John Woolman, an 18th century Quaker, was prominent in the movement against slavery, in equal treatment of native Americans, and in the plight of the poor. Reynolds gives a sketch of the man, his philosophy, his social and spiritual background. That sketch is followed by an anthology of quotation from the writings of John Woolman.
