This is my first time reading a book in this series, so naturally I compared it with the Borrowers. I didn't like it quite as much- it was more adventure oriented, and less tuned to the more interesting details of being tiny.

Characterization: Aunt Lily is a round character because she is thrown out of the glider and lost in the woods during a snowstorm. She was captured by other tiny people family, realizing that they live intensely different lives. She developed more fully through her encounter.

The story allows readers to be immersed in a believable world created away from reality.
