Manousos describes a Soviet-American citizen diplomacy project in the 1980s that arose from a leading of Friends, and that Friends led through much work to completion. They planned, chose and assembled, and had published a book of poetry and fiction written by Soviet and American authors, called The Human Experience. It was all a work of spiritual linkage. Manousos also mentions several earlier Spirit-led Quaker connections with Russia, in the 19th and 20th centuries.
