Boy asks all his farm animals for birthday presents for his mum- she already has them all-they all tell him to visit Mr. Bear. Even though he is scared he visits Mr. Bear who suggests a bear hug.

Since this book is a bit older, it tells a lot with not a whole lot. Rather, it simply just tells a story without a lot of "flashy" things. Danny is looking for a present for his mother's birthday, and after asking a group of farm animals, he is advised to seek the counsel of a bear that lives in

the woods. After talking to the bear, he runs home and gives his mother a large "bear" hug as her present. I like how this simply teaches that a gift given from the heart and given with love is the best type of gift.
