This is a story about a little bear named Ben who wanted some of his mother's freshly made bread before he went to school. His mother told him that it was too hot but that he could have some after school. That day at school, Ben decided to paint a picture of his mother. Once school dismissed for

the day, Ben headed home; however, he made a few stops to get advice from his friends about his painting. Each of his friends found something that Ben could add to his picture to make it even better. As soon as Ben got home, he showed his mom his painting and she had no changes; she loved it just how it was. Then, Ben began eating a big slice of the bread that he wanted.
I think children would really enjoy this book. I thought the idea of including different animal features by adding them to Ben's portrait was a very cute idea. I would read this book to children in kindergarten, first grade, or second grade. A good time to read this is when children are learning about animals. Also, it could be read close to mother's day because it has to do with a child making a portrait of his mom to give to her.

When Ben's mother baked some bread, Ben wanted a piece, but it was too hot for him to eat. His mother said he could have some after he gets home from school. While Ben was at school, he painted a picture of his mom and was going to take it home to him. On the way, he ran into many animals, who each

told Ben he needed to fix something on his painting. By the time Ben got home, his painting had many different features of all the animals he ran into, but his mom loved it anyways.

I enjoyed the book, "Bread and Honey." I would read this story to kindergarten or first graders. This book is about a little bear who hurrys to school so he can have a piece of bread and hunny when he got home. Well when he was at school he painted a picture of his mom. When he was on the way home

from school he saw all different kinds of animals that said the picture needed something done to it. The rabbit said that the picture need bigger ears, the elephant said a bigger nose, the alagator said a bigger mouth. The bear stopped and painted all these different things on his picture but this did not look like him mother at all. Well when he got home his mom took the picture and told the little bear she loved the picture just how it was. She then gave the little bear a pieace of bread with hunny on it. I really thought this was a cute book. I think it would be a good book to add to a discussion about how we all look differently.

Ben the bear, wants the fresh bread his mom pulls out of the oven with honey on top. His mother says when he gets home from school he can have a piece. At school he draws a picture of her. On his way home, he asks his friends what they think of it. Each animal friend adds to the picture, for

example, the bunny says the ears need to be longer. In the end the picture looks ridiculous, but the mother still loves it and gives him a piece of bread.

Exactly what you'd expect a good mother to say.

Ben Bear wants freshly baked bread but it is too hot. He goes off to school with the promise of a slice with honey when he returns. He decides to make a drawing of his mother at school. On his way home, he shows it to his friends who each "suggest" improvements to it.

A cute story for kids. Mama is

surprised at how she looks but with love in her heart keeps her promise to Ben. I enjoyed it. I figured the picture would change with each "improvement" but it was fun to read.
